Here's what we were working with - a worn-out wood fence that had clearly seen better days. The pickets were weathered gray, pulling apart in spots, and doing very little in the way of actual privacy. It was the kind of fence that hangs around longer than it should because replacing it keeps getting pushed down the list.
That's honestly how it goes with a lot of old wood fences. They don't fail all at once - they just slowly get worse until one day you realize the thing is more gap than fence. Rotting at the base, leaning posts, boards going in different directions. When a fence gets to that point, patching it is just throwing good money after bad.
So we pulled the whole thing out and started fresh with a full vinyl privacy fence installation. The new fence runs the length of the property along the alley, complete with a gate and black hardware. Vinyl is a smart upgrade here - it won't rot, won't need painting, and holds its clean white finish for years without much upkeep on your end.
The difference is hard to miss. Where there used to be a sagging, see-through wood fence, there's now a solid, uniform privacy fence that actually does its job. The property looks sharper, the yard feels more secure, and the customers get to stop worrying about that fence for a long time.
If your wood fence is past the point of saving, a vinyl privacy fence is worth a real look. Low maintenance, long-lasting, and it cleans up a property line in a way that an old wood fence just can't match.
